Kanata Chamber of Commerce hands People’s Choice Awards at Olympic-themed gala last night

February 26, 2010, Kanata, ON - Global Pet Foods Kanata, the health food store for pets, won New Business of the Year at the Kanata Chamber of Commerce People’s Choice Awards gala emceed by A-Channel Morning’s Angie Poirier last night.

“We opened the store because we have a passion for pets and their well-being. It is incredible to see how this passion has snowballed in the vibrant community of Kanata,” says Karla Briones, co-owner.

Road) in May 4, 2009 - in the middle of an economic recession – after knocking on many bank doors and almost giving up on their search for funding.

Almost ten months and five staff later, Global Pet Foods Kanata is growing and steadily becoming a staple name in the community of Bridlewood. Their secret? Highly knowledgeable staff, excellent customer service, a wide selection of healthy pet foods and a genuine passion for pets and their well-being.

“We are very fortunate to follow our passion and enjoy what we do. As young entrepreneurs, we get to have our cake and eat it too,” says Mr. Hoey.
